2020 Form

Parkes’ Tier 2 Men’s side were crowned as inaugural premiers as a 2nd division returned to the AFL Central West competition structure. The Grand Final was a high-quality match against Cowra Blues, with both sides having taken the respective points off the other on their home ground during the Home and Away season. Will the Panthers go back-to-back in 2021?

Nominated Teams

Men’s Tier 2
The Panthers are boasting strong numbers at training and have definitely got the Men’s team confirmed, however the hard work put into recruiting a Women’s side has not eventuated to this occurring. There is interest in the community, especially off the back of the Season Launch for players to join another club in season 2021, and work towards fielding their own team in 2022, so stay tuned for more about those promotions.

Club Comments

Parkes Panthers President Jarryd Harrison believes that their Men’s Tier-2 side is capable of defending their premiership from last season. Harrison is confident that the team will perform well this season and that their pre-season training had been great so far leading into round 1. “We are looking pretty good, although we did lose a few players who left town,” Harrison said. “But we recruited really well, and we just got to hit the track hard over the next few weeks and our aim is to go back to back.”

With a successful pre-season gala day hosted in Parkes on the 18th April, the team will look to promote their home matches across the community this season to build support for the club.”Its good that we are playing footy here and we are going to spend some time for our home games,” Harrison said.
