AFL Central West Round 4 Recap

 

 

Here are all the results from Round 4 of the AFL Central West Senior Competitions.

 

Men’s Tier 1

Bathurst Bushrangers 12.11-83 defeat Bathurst Giants 10.6-66

The Bathurst Bushrangers have given the Bathurst Giants their first loss of the season as the visitors booted 4 4th quarter goals to defeat their local rivals by 17 points. Kolby McMahon put the Bushrangers ahead late in the game, before Alex Sparks converted a down-field free kick to put the game beyond doubt.

The win puts the Bushrangers back on top of the competition as the Giants fall to second. Kolby McMahon (5), and Alex Sparks (3) kicked multiple goals for the Bushrangers whilst Sam Sloan (4) continued his great run of form. Oscar Mann (2), and Leigh Monaghan (2) also kicked multiple goals for the Giants. The Bathurst Bushrangers will travel to Dubbo to take on the winless Demons next week while the Bathurst Giants will travel to Orange to take on the Tigers.

 

Orange Tigers 10.11-71 defeat Dubbo Demons 7.8-50

The Orange Tigers have secured their second win of the season defeating the Dubbo Demons on the road by 21 points at South Dubbo Oval. The win keeps the Tigers in 3rd place on the ladder, while the loss keeps the Demons outside the finals places. Todd Fagan remains in red hot goal scoring form, booting 8 goals for the game, whilst Joseph Hedger kicked a double for the Demons. The Tigers will look to make it two on the bounce when hosting the Bathurst Giants next week while the Dubbo Demons host the competition leaders Bathurst Bushrangers.

 

Women’s

Bathurst Giants 9.14-68 defeat Bathurst Bushrangers 1.3-9

The Bathurst Giants have remained undefeated in 2021 as the side put on a clinical performance against the Bathurst Bushrangers at George Park. The 59 point victory cements the Giants as competition favourites after four rounds, whilst the Bushrangers remain in 3rd place. Elise Gullifer (3), Aimee Schmidt (3), and Zoe Peters (2) kicked multiple goals for the Giants. Next week will see the Bathurst Giants travel to Orange to take on the Tigers while the Bathurst Bushrangers will travel to Dubbo to take on the Demons.

 

Dubbo Demons 15.11-101 defeat Orange Tigers 0.1-1

The Dubbo Demons have put on a fantastic display of footy, defeating the Orange Tigers by 100 points at South Dubbo Oval. The win keeps the Demons at 2nd on the ladder while the loss keeps the Tigers in 4th. Trudy Sloane (4), Lauren Hazell (3), Emily Warner (3), and Alicia Hafoka (2) all kicked multiple goals for the Demons who compiled the largest Women’s team score for the season in the win. The Demons will host the Bathurst Bushrangers next week while the Orange Tigers will host the competition leaders Bathurst Giants.

 

Men’s Tier 2

Bathurst Bushrangers Rebels 12.5-77 defeat Bathurst Bushrangers Outlaws 8.2-50

In the Match of the Round, the Bathurst Bushrangers Rebels have taken bragging rights over the Bathurst Bushrangers Outlaws. Both the Rebels and Outlaws played some great entertaining footy, but the Rebels were just too strong on the day, defeating the Outlaws by 27 points at George Park. The match was also the 350th game for Bushrangers legend John Ellis. Jake-Taylor Nugent (4), Hamish Alexander (2), Reece Belmonte (2), and Dylan Patching (2) all kicked multiple goals for the Rebels whilst Aleksandar Malicanin kicked 4 goals for the Outlaws. The Rebels will travel to Orange next week to take on the Tigers while the Outlaws will enjoy the bye.

Match of the Round Report

 

Dubbo Demons 8.13-61 defeat Orange Tigers 5.8-38

The Dubbo Demons have cemented their first win of 2021, defeating the Orange Tigers by 23 points at South Dubbo Oval. The Demons win puts the side into 6th place on the ladder while the Tigers will stay in 5th. Brodie Caton (2) was the sole multiple goal scorer for the Demons who left their kicking boots at home, whilst Tyson Hannus (2), and Caleb Hannus (2) kicked multiple goals for the Tigers. The Demons will host the Cowra Blues next week while the Orange Tigers will host the Bathurst Bushrangers Rebels.
