AFL Central West Round 6 Recap
Here are all the results from Round 6 of the AFL Central West Senior Competitions.
Men’s Tier 1
Bathurst Giants 22.15-147 defeat Dubbo Demons 5.9-39
The Bathurst Giants have defeated the Dubbo Demons by their biggest margin this year, winning by 108-points at George Park. The Giants looked unstoppable, kicking 22-goals in the encounter. The win draws the Giants ever so closer to top spot on the ladder, only trailing the Bushrangers on percentage.
Liam Cooke and Bailey Brien both kicked five-goals each. Simon Kay (3), Mitchell Taylor (3), and Max Currie (2) all kicked multiple goals for the Bathurst side. Tom Budd was the top goal scorer for the Demons, kicking three goals. Bailey Brien was awarded the commemorative Man of the Match honours with the Giants celebrating Sir Doug Nicholls Round with the award for all three grades.
Bathurst Bushrangers 9.13-67 defeat Orange Tigers 2.2-14
The Bathurst Bushrangers remain at top spot on the Tier 1 ladder, after defeating the Orange Tigers by 53-points at George Park. The Tigers were held to a scoreless quarter for the first time this year, not getting on the board until mid-way through the second term. The Bushrangers kicked nine goals in the encounter, enabling the side to stay just ahead of the Giants on percentage.
Matthew Archer (3), Alex Sparks (2), and Harry Bowden (2) all kicked multiple goals for the Bushrangers.
Women’s
Bathurst Giants 10.9-69 defeat Dubbo Demons 2.1-13
The Bathurst Giants remain undefeated this season after defeating the Dubbo Demons by 56-points at George Park. The Giants led by 21-points at halftime, after only allowing the Demons to score once in the first half. After the half, the Giants let loose, kicking six goals to one.
Olivia Johnston (3), Hailee Provest (2), and Elise Gullifer (2) all kicked multiple goals for the Giants. Giants Aimee Schmidt was awarded Best on Ground.
Orange Tigers 4.6-30 defeat Bathurst Bushrangers 2.4-16
The Orange Tigers have won their first game this season, after defeating the Bathurst Bushrangers by 14-points at George Park. The Tigers were outstanding, only allowing the Bushrangers to kick two goals all game. The win puts the Tigers season back on track, whilst the Bushrangers will be looking to bounce back after the long weekend.
Emma Clark kicked a hat trick for the Tigers, ensuring the win for her side.
Men’s Tier 2
Bathurst Bushrangers Outlaws 6.8-44 defeat Bathurst Giants 5.5-35
The Bathurst Bushrangers Outlaws have won their second game this season, defeating the Bathurst Giants by nine-points in a close encounter at George Park. There was only two-points between the sides after the opening quarter, but the Outlaws kicked four goals in the second to take a 12-point lead into the half. The Giants came back in the second half but fell short. The win now allows the Outlaws to move up to fourth place on the Tier 2 ladder whilst the Giants remain at seventh.
Cade Turner-Mann kicked a double for the Outlaws whilst Best on Ground went to the Outlaws’ Shaun McKiernan.
Bathurst Bushrangers Rebels 9.12-66 defeat Dubbo Demons 5.8-38
In the Match of the Round, the Bathurst Bushrangers Rebels have defeated an undermanned Dubbo Demons side by 28-points at George Park. The Demons led in the opening quarter but failed to capitalise. The Rebels kicked seven-goals in the second and third quarter to take a 32-point lead into the final break.
Jai Bellamy (3), Daniel Crofts (2), and Dylan Patching (2) kicked multiple goals for the Rebels. Joseph Hedger (3), and Andrew Pearson (2) kicked multiple for the Demons.

Parkes Panthers 15.18-108 defeat Orange Tigers 1.3-9
The Parkes Panthers remain on top of the Tier 2 competition after defeating the Orange Tigers by 99-points at Waratah Spots Club. The Panthers proved too strong for the hosts, kicking 15-goals to one in a convincing performance. The win helps to create a four-point buffer between the Panthers and their closest rivals.
Jonathan Morell (7), and Michael Livingston (4) kicked multiple goals for the Panthers.
