AFL Central West Round 7 Recap

Here are all the results from Round 7 of the AFL Central West Senior Competitions.

 

Men’s Tier 1

Bathurst Giants 13.18-96 defeat Orange Tigers 7.4-46

The Bathurst Giants have taken the outright lead on the Tier 1 Men’s Competition after defeating the Orange Tigers by 50-points at George Park. The Giants were simply too good on the day, kicking 13-goals in the encounter. The win allows the Giants to overtake the Bathurst Bushrangers after their Round 7 loss to the Dubbo Demons.

Simon Kay (3), and Bryce Cross (3) both kicked a hat trick for the home side. Oscar Mann (2), Sam Sloan (2), and Bailey Brien (2) each kicked a pair. For the visitors, Todd Fagan (3) and Jayden Nelder (2) kicked multiple goals.

 

Dubbo Demons 12.18-90 defeat Bathurst Bushrangers 8.4-52

The Dubbo Demons have won their first game of the season after defeating the Bathurst Bushrangers by 38-points at South Dubbo Oval. The loss gives the Bushrangers their second defeat this season.  The side also drops to second place after the Bathurst Giants defeated the Orange Tigers. The Demons showed up to play this weekend, kicking 12-goals against the reigning premiers.

Joshua Anasis (3) led all-comers for the home side whilst Isaac Heath (2), and Bevan Charlton-White (2) each kicked multiple goals. For the visitors, Matthew Archer (3), Scott Brown (2), and Kolby McMahon (2) had good games in front of the sticks.

 

Women’s

Bathurst Giants 15.15-105 defeat Orange Tigers 1.1-7
The Bathurst Giants remain undefeated after seven games defeating the Orange Tigers in the Katrina Hobby Memorial Match. The Giants looked too good on the day, winning the game by 98-points at George Park. The hosts were outstanding on the defensive end, not allowing the Tigers to score a single point in the first quarter and only one-goal for the match.
Hailee Provest (4) kicked a bag of goals for the Giants, whilst Tamara Thompson (3), Jayarna Kay (2), Kaylee Barnes (2), and Zoe Peters (2) all kicked multiple goals for the hosts. Lyndell Bassett (1) was the lone goal kicker for the Tigers.
Dubbo Demons 8.8-56 defeat Bathurst Bushrangers 1.3-9
The Dubbo Demons remain the other top team in the Women’s Competition after defeating the Bathurst Bushrangers by 47-points at South Dubbo Oval. The Demons looked too good defensively, holding the Bushrangers to one-goal the entire game. The win keeps the hosts 8-points behind the leading Bathurst Giants on the ladder.
Lauren Hazell (3), and Trudy Sloane (3) each kicked a hat trick for the hosts. Kelsey Richards (1) was the lone goal kicker for the Bathurst Bushrangers.

Men’s Tier 2

Bathurst Bushrangers Outlaws 8.3-51 defeat Dubbo Demons 6.6-42

The Bathurst Bushrangers Outlaws have won their second game in a row after defeating the Dubbo Demons by nine-points at South Dubbo Oval. In a closely fought encounter, both teams had their chances, but the Outlaws came out on top, booting eight-goals to six. The win sits the visitors in fourth on the ladder whilst the hosts drop to seventh.

Charles Flude (3) was the Outlaws leading goal scorer. For the hosts, Harley Bye (2) kicked a pair.

 

Bathurst Giants 13.11-89 defeat Orange Tigers 9.5-59

The Bathurst Giants have won their second game of the year defeating the Orange Tigers by 30-points at George Park. In a fairly attacking game by both sides, the Giants were able to convert their opportunities, kicking 13-goals to nine. The win moves the hosts to fifth on the ladder whilst the visitors drop to sixth.

Chad Monaghan (5) kicked a bag, whilst Chris Allman (2), Matthew Stephen (2), and Angus Rendall (2) each kicked multiples. For the visitors, Tyson Hannus (4) was their best, whilst Jacob Tyack (2) kicked a double.

 

Parkes Panthers 9.11-65 defeat Cowra Blues 4.4-28

The Parkes Panthers have taken bragging rights as the visitors defeated the Cowra Blues in the Men’s Tier 2 showdown at Mulyan Oval. The Panthers looked too strong on the day, kicking nine goals to four in the first encounter between the sides this year. The result now means the Panthers are two games clear of Cowra on the Men’s Tier 2 ladder.

Ethan Morton (3) kicked a hat trick for the visitors, whilst Braeden Snow (2) kicked a double.
