2020 Form
Dubbo Demons Tier 1 Men’s side qualified for finals, finishing third, but ultimately lost away from home to the Bathurst Giants in the Preliminary Final. For the Women’s side, they made it to the Grand Final, after defeating the Bathurst Bushrangers in their Preliminary Final, however lost their Grand Final against the Giants.
Nominated Teams
* Men’s Tier 1, Men’s Tier 2, Women’s
Dubbo have gone on a promotion spree this off-season and have recruited enough players to nominate a second-tier side in addition to their Tier 1 side from 2020. Excitingly, this ensures that a Dubbo-based team is involved in every competition from Under-12s through to Men’s Tier 1, the first time this has happened since the introduction of Under-12s.
The “Dee’s” will likely make South Dubbo Oval a fortress again, locals should circle those home matches in their calendar and get down to show support.
Club Coaches
* Men’s Tier 1 – Terry Lyons
* Men’s Tier 2 – Joseph Hedger
* Women’s – Lachy Ewart & Peter Martinoli
Club Comments
Dubbo Demons President Tom Skinner is confident the Men’s Tier 1 side can make a big improvement this season if they can get more consistent numbers to training and games. “If we get more consistent numbers to games and training, just to build as a club so that we are stronger,” Skinner said. “Having Terry Lyons back as coach is a big thing for us, it brings a different structure for the team.”
Skinner believes the Dubbo Demons Women’s team are looking good this season and the new additions to the team should have a positive impact on the club.
This season is also the first season that the Dubbo Demons are able to field a Men’s Tier 2 side in what should be a big boost for the club. Skinner applauds the decision saying that it gives players a chance to play while also providing competition for spots.”It’s awesome for the club to have a Tier 2 team, the availability to have players that aren’t quite making that Tier 1 squad, they still get a kick and helps to build their game.”
